Waiter in Mumbai loses Rs 10 lakh to woman on gaming app

A 34-year-old restaurant waiter from Mira Road has suffered a loss of over Rs10 lakh after engaging in conversation with a woman he met on a gaming app last October. The Navghar police have confirmed that the victim had transferred the money from his mobile payment app to various mobile numbers, only realizing he had been deceived in February.

According to the police, the waiter, who had been employed for three years, was unable to provide any explanation as to the source of the large sum of money. Authorities are suspecting that he may have used his employer’s funds.

The incident began in October when the victim, residing in Mira Road, downloaded the app and commenced playing Ludo with an individual he believed to be a man. After some time, he discovered that it was actually a woman and proceeded to engage in conversation with her.
